Islamabad:

Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League (PML-N) on Sunday increased her strength in the National Assembly with the addition of two seats reserved for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa women (KP), according to a notification issued by the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP).

The ECP notified Samar Haroon Bilour, Saeeda Jamshed Khan as members of the National Assembly. Both names were sent to the ECP last month. This addition causes the fortress of the ruling party in House 336-Strong to 124.

The names of Bilour and Khan appeared in number 1 and 2 on their list of priorities for seats reserved for women presented to the provincial elections commissioner, who is the officer who returns to fill the two seats.

The assignment of seats occurred when Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf was declared that he had no right to seats reserved for women and non-Muslims. Consequently, the ECP assigned five out of 10 seats reserved from KP to the PML-N, three to Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam and two to the parliamentarians of the Peoples Party of Pakistan.
