Islamabad:
The president’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, said that the ruler PML-N has never canceled his conversations with the Imran Khan PTI and that the two parties have been in contact.
“Us [the government] I have never closed the door in the conversations, “said Sadiq’s speaker on Friday during an information interaction with journalists outside the Punjab assembly.
The speaker facilitated rare conversations between the PML-N and the PTI that began in December and culminated after three rounds after the PTI announced the withdrawal of the negotiation.
Sadiq said the PML-N has never dissolved its negotiation team.
He affirmed that the PTI negotiation team will resume the process once it obtains an approval of its leadership. “The two parties are still in touch,” he said, adding that the imprisoned founder of the PTI, Imran Khan, is “a hard guy.”
The Government and the PTI agreed to hold conversations to end an ongoing political crisis in a meeting between the leader of SADIQ and the PTI and the former president of Na Asad Qaiser.
During the conversations, the PTI demanded the formation of judicial commissions to investigate the incidents that occurred on May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024.
However, in the last week of January, the PTI unexpectedly moved away from the table, linking new sessions with the formation of judicial commissions.
