Rawalpindi:
A political strip and loosen has exploded between two PML-N leaders in Rawalpindi about the vacant presidency of the Zakat district council. The publication has remained without filling during the last two years, stopping the distribution of Zakat funds to the beneficiaries.
Member of the Malik National Assembly Ahmed is pressing to appoint Malik Imran as president, while Federal Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi is pressing Rafaqat’s Raja. In addition to these two friends, three other PML-N candidates are also in dispute for the post.
According to sources from the department of Zakat, the names of Malik Imran and Raja Jibran Rafaqat have been preselected and sent to the Punjab government for final approval. The appointment is expected to be carried out shortly after EID.
Due to the prolonged vacancy, the distribution of Zakat’s funds has been paralyzed for two years, leaving thousands of beneficiaries without financial assistance.
