- Polaroid’s instantaneous cameras now get an update with the new third generation models
- Now+ model can connect to the polaroid application for wireless control
- Available from March 4 in new colors and made of 40% recycled materials
Polaroid has renewed its now snapshot camera with third generation models now 3 and now 3+. They are the last in the low-cost instantaneous cameras line that shoot at the beautiful (and largest) square movie of Polaroid, as the I-2 Premium does. Consider them Go Polaroid of large size.
Little changed between the original now and now of the 2020 and second generation models that arrived two years later and, to tell the truth, the latter models are also quite familiar.
That is not bad, we really describe the now+ and has appeared in our best guide to buy instantaneous cameras for several years. But what exactly is the new in now 3 and now 3+?
Polaroid perfectly summarize the new features, who describes his last now 3 and now 3+ as, “an instantaneous camera refined with an improved two lenses automatic approach system, an improved range sensor and a better light measurement for more clear images, even in the most sunny days.”
In other words, updates must expect a more clear approach and better exposed impressions, whatever the weather, wherever it is.
The new thing is also that both cameras are made with 40% recycled materials, polaroid kudos for that, and come in a variety of new colors. They are immediately available (of March 4, 2025) on the polaroid website and the selected retailers, with prices that begin from $ 119.99 / £ 119.99 for the now 3 and $ 139.99 / £ 139.99 for the Now 3+ (Australia Precling TBC).
+ =?
There have always been two coexisting models of Polaroid Now; The regular now and now +. So what is the difference between the two versions? Well, they are identical in every way, except for one thing; The version now+ can connect to your smart device for wireless control.
The Now 3+ can be controlled through the Polaroid application, with creative tools such as double exposure, remote timer and a opening priority mode. Combine those skills with colored lens filters (available separately and in several packages), and there is a lot of creative fun.
It is also possible to scan and share impressions through application. Naturally, the Plus model costs a little more, but not much and we believe it is worth the additional disbursement about the standard version.
As cameras, both have an excellent value, but when considering an instant camera, it must take into account the operating costs of buying films, and the Polaroid premium film is more expensive than Instx (and with a good reason, it is impressive).
We still have to have new versions in our hands, but we will make a complete review when we do. Our expectations are attenuated: we do not expect to see much difference between now+ and now 3+, but, again, that is not bad. We will notify you soon.
