Karachi: The anti-violent criminal cell (AVCC) of the Karachi Police on Thursday arrested Kamran Asghar Qureshi, father of Armaghan Qureshi, the main suspect in the infamous case of murder of Mustafa Amir.

According to the Senior Police Superintendent (SSP) of Cell AVCC (AVCC), Anil Haider, the arrest occurred during a police raid at the Armaghan residence located in the neighborhood of the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) Khayaban-E-Momin.

Revealing that ice (drugs) and a 9 mm gun recovered from the suspect, the SSP said that a case has been registered and that additional investigation was being carried out.

Kamran’s arrest follows the fifth extension of an anti -terrorism court (ATC) of the physical prison of the main suspect in relation to the case of kidnapping, murder and drug trafficking of Mustafa.

The investigation officer (IO) had previously revealed that Armaghan admitted to having trusted his father all the incident after Mustafa’s murder, and added that his father had advised him to leave Karachi and hide, assuring him that they would also relocate the software house to another location.

The high profile case also presents the participation of the Federal Research Agency (FIA) and other institutions that are investigating several aspects.

The government’s lawyer, while arguing before ATC, said Armaghan was allegedly responsible for supplying drugs to hundreds of young people and also submitted several girls and boys to torture.

The entire saga was developed after Armaghan opened fire to an AVCC team, a specialized Karachi police unit responsible for addressing cases related to murder and extortion, during a raid at its residence in the Karachi DHA on February 8.

The body of the deceased, found by the police in a car near the Hub Chechpost on January 12 and buried by the Edhi Foundation on January 16, was exhumed and then buried by his family after identity confirmation in the initial DNA report.

Meanwhile, the police have already delivered laptops recovered from Armaghan’s residence to the FIA along with their mobile phones for the necessary analysis.

In addition, the folding American and silencer iron folding rod, supposedly used by Armaghan to beat Mustafa, has also recovered from the Hub area, confirmed an officer confirmed The news.

Police believe that this recovery is a great advance that would significantly strengthen the case against Armaghan and would help ensure their conviction. The officer revealed that Armaghan is no longer as challenging as before
