Police officers killed in the attack on the road on Lakki Marwat

Two traffic police were shot dead in an ambush on Tuesday on the Ghazni Khel-Long Khel road, near Gul Baz Dehqan, in the Lakki Marwat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa district, according to the local police.

The assailants, who remain unidentified, opened fire against the officers while traveling on a motorcycle. The attackers also snatched the official weapons of the officers before fleeing from the scene.

The deceased officers were identified as Israel and Sanaullah, who were heading from their hometown Long Khel to Taja Zai Adda for service when the incident occurred.

Only a few days before, on Sunday, the leader of a local peace committee, Ghulam Dastager, also known as Fauji, and his two companions were shot dead in an objective attack in the Kara Wanda area of ​​Lakki Marwat, police confirmed.

Dastager, who directed the Peace Committee of Shahab Khel, was traveling to Qabol Khel when the unidentified gunmen ambushed their vehicle. His teammates, Salem Khan and Salahuddin, were also killed on the scene.

In April, two mortal assaults attacked groups of the Peace Committee in Lakki Marwat and Waziristan del Sur, including an explosion of bombs that killed at least seven people in an office in the Peace Committee.

Last month, agent Khushdil Khan, resident of Wanda Fateh Khan, was kidnapped from his house and then brutally killed by unidentified armed men. He was kidnapped in front of his children during a night raid, and his body was recovered from a deserted area.
