Louisiana State Police released a “critical incident briefing video” after Kyren Lacy’s attorney provided evidence in an attempt to prove the late LSU star’s innocence for charges he faced before his death by suicide in April.

Lacy was under investigation in Louisiana For a crash in December that left Herman Hall, 78, a passenger, dead. He was charged with reckless driving, speeding and passing in a no-passing zone, when the motorist swerved to avoid the Lacy and crashed into another vehicle.

The video appeared to show Lacy driving at “a high rate of speed, passing three passenger vehicles and one loaded 18-wheeler in a designated no-pass zone with a posted speed limit of 40 mph,” according to police. Lacy’s attorney, Matthew Ory, said he had “not disputed” that Lacy illegally passed four vehicles, which was also caught in the surveillance.

The video then shows BodyCam footage of a responding officer speaking to a witness, the driver of the red 18-wheeler seen on surveillance. That witness said the driver of a northbound gold truck jammed on his brakes as the Lacy Loader approached, causing a female driver in a Kia Cadenza behind the gold truck to swerve into the southbound lane to avoid the truck. The Cadenza crashed into the Kia Sorrento hill carrying the hill, which was going south.

“Did you see a green charger flying like that? A green charger caused all this,” the driver of the 18-wheeler said.

Police said “numerous witnesses” told responding officers that Lacy’s driving caused the crash.

Another witness said he had “no choice” but to move out of the way, according to police.

“The other car was trying to pass the other car. I was trying to dodge by not hitting it, by coming,” the driver told police while being treated for her injuries.

A written report said: “I would say [Lacy was traveling at] No less than 80 mph.”

“The gold truck traveling northbound swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the green Charger. As the gold truck swerved to the right, the driver of the Kia Cadenza saw the approaching green Charger. In reaction, the driver of the Kia Cadenza swerved into the southbound lane and struck a Kia Sorrento of Kia Northbound,” police said, and added that Gold’s Gold Truck driver “reacted the appropriate”, to the appropriation of an appropriate “, to appropriate with the appropriate”, to the appropriation of an appropriate “, to the appropriation with the appropriate with the appropriation with the appropriate of the appropriation, to the appropriation with the appropriation with the straight with the straight with the straight with the straight.

“All evidence collected supports the conclusion that Lacy’s reckless operation of the green charger into oncoming traffic set off the chain of events involving the other drivers, ultimately resulting in the fatal accident.”

Ory said Lacy couldn’t have caused the accident, considering he was almost a football field’s length away from the wreck when he returned to the correct lane.

“At the time of impact, it is 72.6 yards behind the vehicles at the time of impact. Keyword: behind the vehicles. That’s not how this story was painted. Ever,” Ory said.
