Political dialogue A collective duty: Elahi

LAHORE:

Former Punjab Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi emphasized Thursday that the responsibility of initiating political dialogue rests not only with politicians but also with all state institutions, urging each one to play their due role in the national interest.

In statements to the media after visiting the residence of the leader of PTI, Hammad Azhar, to offer condolences about the death of his father, the former Punjab governor Mian Muhammad Azhar, Elahi paid tribute to the late leader, calling him “a great politician” known for his honesty and integrity.

“We share a friendship that covered more than 30 years. Mian Azhar is no longer with us, but his services to the country and the nation will always be remembered,” Elahi said.

In response to a question, the central president of PTI reiterated that political dialogue is not only the duty of political parties.
