Karachi:
The Emergency Operations Center of the Sindh Government (EOC) has launched an anti-political campaign of the entire province, which will continue until June 1.
According to EOC Sindh spokesman, the campaign aims to vaccinate more than 10.6 million children under five years in 30 districts in the province.
More than 80,000 trained polio workers will go from Puerta to Puerta to administer the drops, with the support of 25,539 security personnel. In addition to polio drops, children aged six to 59 will also receive vitamin A supplements to help increase their immunity.
After successful rounds in February and April, this phase is considered crucial to strengthen efforts nationwide to eradicate poliovirus. Although significant progress has been made, the environmental samples of districts such as Karachi, Hyderabad and Larkana still show traces of the virus.
Until now, four polio cases have been reported in Sindh this year.
The spokesman emphasized that while poliovirus exists anywhere in the world, it is still a threat to our children.
This campaign reflects our collective commitment to reach each child and eliminate polyomyelitis forever.
The campaign is currently in progress in 1,292 trade union tips throughout Sindh, where district administrations, the department of health and associated organizations are actively supporting polyomyelitis equipment.
EOC Sindh urges parents, teachers, religious academics, media and community leaders to play a proactive role in this national cause.
If a child has lost its drops of polyomyelitis, citizens are encouraged to call the aid line to 1166 or send a WhatsApp message at 0346-7776546.
