As the first Pope to provoke from the United States, Robert Prevost’s US sports ties quickly became a point of global conversation after being appointed Pope Leo XIV.
As a native of Chicago, the Fandom of the Prevost’s White Sox came to light this week, and it turns out that it is not just an informal fanatic. Premost images that attended game 1 of the 2005 World Series appeared on social networks on Friday.
By Pure Chance, Prevost was shown in the transmission of MLB in Fox for that game in the US cell field. On October 22, 2005, and the cameras caught him during the upper part of the ninth entrance, since the white socks were obtaining a 5-3 victory over the Houston stars.

The White Sox won the series in a scanning four games, for their only championship since 1917.
Prevost was revealed for the first time as a fan of the white socks when his brother, John Prevost, mentioned it in an interview with WGN-TV.
“He was always a fan of older averages,” John said.
But the interest of the Pope’s rooting might not end baseball.
Reverand Robert P. Hagan, a friend of Premost and a chaplain in the Pope’s Alma Mater, the University of Villanova, told Atlético about Prevost’s link with the New York Knicks and his star line of former players of Villanova.

“We have fun very seeing the Knicks, because Jalen (Brunson) and Josh (Hart) and Donte (Divinnzo) were there, and now Mikal (Bridges) is there,” said Hagan. “I think Pope Leo will continue watching the Nova Knicks. I think he will still watch the Wildcats, and I think he will be very proud not only who they are but of the way they play with some spirit and restlessness.”
Leo XIV was first taken to the Vatican by Pope Francis to serve as a prefect of the Dicasteria for bishops in January 2023, which is one of the most important positions in the Catholic Church, as Bishop nominations veterate worldwide.
Francis raised him to the cardinal position in September 2023.
It was reported that Leo was closely aligned with Francis’s teachings as leader of the Catholic Church, particularly when it came to his positions with respect to the environment, the dissemination of the poor and the migrants, and opening the Catholic church To hug more followers.

In 2015, Leo obtained Peruvian citizenship. He remained in Peru until he was transferred to the Vatican in 2023.
During his last years in Peru, Leo also served as vice president of the Permanent Council of the Peruvian Bishops Conference from 2018 to 2023, which probably helped him to ensure his role as a prefect of the Dicascle for bishops under Francis.
