PPP supports Habib Jalib’s daughter for Na-129

LAHORE:

The local chapter of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP) has supported its full support behind the renowned daughter of the poet Habib Jalib, Tahira Habib Jalib, for the partial election of Na-129.

Despite the presence of Asif Mahmood Nagra, considered a strong contender for the match ticket, the local chapter leans towards the new Tahira Habib Jalib participant, who has been taken to the race for his supporters within the party.

Until a few years ago, Tahira was making a living by directing a women’s management school in the city of Mustafa. According to the party, he moved to the driving of taxis.

Party leaders believe that the ticket would revitalize the old and staunch workers of the PPP, who would see the movement as a return to the ideological roots of the party.

While they recognize that the defeat in NA-129 seems to be “a writing on the wall” for the PPP, they argue that with Mrs. Jalib, at least it would gain the rights of blushing of giving tickets to people of humble origins.

A message issued to the media by the party said that politicians and journalists were asked to support the nomination of Tahira Habib Jalib through a press conference that would be held by the taxi driver herself.

“Tahira Habib Jalib, daughter of the famous revolutionary poet Habib Jalib, is representing the disadvantaged class of Pakistan and has requested a PPP ticket for the partial elections of Na-129 Lahore,” the statement said.

To the press conference, held at Lahore on Monday (today), Tahira Habib Jalib will attend along with PPP leader Faisal Mir.

During the event, Tahira and Faisal Mir will specifically attract thirty politicians, intellectuals and journalists, by name, to support their nomination and support their representation of common people.

Faisal Mir will begin the electoral campaign with the slogan: “Support Tahira Habib Jalib’s taxi driver or support the politician of the ruling class.”

Faisal Mir, who returned to Pakistan from America on Sunday, could not be contacted for comments.
