The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) must seriously weigh the option to change opposition banks if you hope "No one is going to give us the prime minister’s slot in a silver dish". In the midst of a discontent over low heat within the party’s parties about its ambivalent position, not being completely in the government or truly in opposition, a media report said that the PPP has agreed to join the federal cabinet under the pressure of the powerful rooms. Citing unidentified sources, the report said the division of ministries will be resolved for next month. However, a main PUNJAB PPP leader, who spoke with the Express PAkGazette, said he completely ignored such development, although he did not completely rule out the possibility. When addressed for official comments, the PPP strongly denied the reports, calling them without foundation and reiterating that such rumors routinely force the party to issue clarifications. In statements to the Express PAkGazette, the former Federal Minister and PPP Secretary of Information, Shazia Marri, said the party had not made the decision to join the federal cabinet. It ends the report "mere conjecture" and "an absolute lie," She emphasized that the PPP follows a structured internal process for decision making. She said that if such a decision had even been considered, it would have been discussed at some level, and added that the final authority in the party rested with the CEC. Marri added that the party, on multiple occasions in the past, had to broadcast similar clarifications to counteract the stories not verified. Contrary to these rumors, many within the party have been urging leadership to formally join opposition banks to forge more political room, especially in Punjab, where the electoral presence of the PPP remains marginal. A main leader of Punjab said: "If this trajectory continues, Bilawal Bhutto will have no chance of becoming the next PM". By pointing out that the PML-N was comfortably nestled with the establishment, he asked why the powers they bet on a new party when their current selection delivered exceptionally well for its standards.
"The next in the row is Maryam Nawaz," He warned. The leader said that, since PTI was a force spent in the current conditions, the scenario has left the field open for the PPP in Punjab, but only if the game stopped touching horcajadas over the fence. He emphasized the need to join opposition banks if the party expected to obtain genuine support in Punjab. He added that PPP must place in independent members who have distanced from PTI and emphasized the need for new leadership and fresh faces. "The President [Bilawal] You need to give Punjab more time, walk through its streets and meet common people," said. "He plays it as a violin with false hopes of becoming the next PM. Without Punjab, there is no hope."
According to the same leader, the establishment does not even need PML-N. "They have assured the blessing of the global establishment, which has effectively relegated the role of the prime minister and his clique."
Another figure of the top coincided, saying that remaining an ally has cost the good public will of PPP.
"People often say that we are part of the government because we have constitutional positions. It becomes very difficult to explain how we are not in power. For an common person, we are in the government."
He said that the party would eventually have to be moved to the opposition. Citing the recent electoral results in Punjab, he said the result reflected what PPP should expect in future competitions. He recalled how the Secretary of Information of the party, Nadeem Afzal Gondal, had also admitted during a press conference that the PPP alliance with PML-N had cost them their seat. The former Prime Minister and Political Analyst of Punjab, Hasan Askari Rizvi, said that the PPP’s strategy to enjoy the best of both worlds was harmful to his perspectives.
"PPP has no chance of forming the next government in this way," He said, urging the party to participate in a real policy based on problems in Punjab.
"PML-N will not yield any space for PPP in Punjab. That province is still a painful thumb for PPP."
He said PPP would have to articulate clear relevant issues for Punjab. "PPP cannot sell ‘Jiye Bhutto’ here. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto gained popularity because it became the voice of the lowest strata of Punjab."
Askari emphasized that the party should give up the government, including the resignation of the presidency and begin the policy based on the basic issue. "Despite Maryam’s best efforts, there is still a great alienation among the public in Punjab, which gives some opening for an opposition."
When asked about the lack of political traction of PPP in Punjab, Shazia Marri recognized the importance of the province. "There are some deficiencies and we are not denying them," She said, added that Bilawal Bhutto’s recent defense trip had won hearts even among General Z. "It is necessary to capitalize that feeling."
On the question of joining the opposition, he said, "We are an independent part without long-term commitment or understanding with PML-N. If the government continues to fulfill our expectations or even close to them, we will continue to support it. Otherwise, our options remain open."
"For now, we want to play the role of a constructive ally as we did during the finance bill," She added.
