Peshawar:

The parliamentarians of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPPP) have strongly protested by the decision of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s prime minister to assign a subsidy of RS50 million to the lawyer association of the Superior Court of Lahore.

In response, the part has presented a formal “notice of attention in the Provincial Assembly of KP.

The notice was presented to the Secretariat of the Assembly by the parliamentary leader of PPPP, Ahmad Karim Kundi. He establishes that the provincial government, at its next cabinet meeting, has granted the proposed subsidy for the Law Association of the Superior Court of Lahore as the last article on the agenda.

The notice raises serious concerns, questioning government priorities in the light of the current challenges faced by KP.

The province is dealing with the deterioration of the law and the conditions of order, as well as an economic crisis that worsens. In such circumstances, the notice argues, it is unjustifiable that provincial leadership approves such a large sum of KP’s resources for an institution based on another province.

“Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s executive director has no justification to assign provincial funds to political organizations or institutions outside the province,” Kundi said.

The PPPP has demanded a clear explanation of the provincial government regarding its position and the logic behind this financial decision.

On the other hand, Senator Wali Khan condemned the measure, accusing KP’s government to misuse taxpayers by distributing it among the “political friends of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI).”
