LAHORE:
The Faisalabad-Khanewal railway section, which had been closed due to recent floods, has been partially restored and freight services are now allowed to operate on a limited basis.
According to railway officials, the Darkhana-Abdul Hakim section has been reopened exclusively for freight trains. Initially, one locomotive (AGE-30) will make three or four test runs around the site to evaluate track safety and operational readiness.
Officials said if the tests are successful, freight trains will be able to pass through the section during night hours.
