President, PM pays tribute to Quaid on the 77th anniversary of death

The ceremonies were held in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmiro (AJK), where the forums of social and civil society recalled Jinnah’s leadership by joining the subcontinent Muslims under the All-Indian Muslim league and ensuring a separate homeland.

The president of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, called Jinnah “a symbol of integrity, justice and the rule of law”, emphasizing that democratic institutions and the unity of the people were the true strength to realize their dream.

“All citizens, regardless of their religion, caste or creed, must enjoy equal rights and opportunities: this was Jinnah’s belief and must continue to be our compass,” he said.

The day began in Karachi with the Khawani and Fateha Qur’an in the Quaid mausoleum, which was attended by political leaders, officials and citizens of all areas of life.

The Interior Minister of Sindh, Zia-Ul-Hassan Lanjar, said that Jinnah’s unity and resilience message remained a guide light for the nation. “Pakistan is the result of the dream and the sacrifices of Quaid-E-Azam, which we must all safeguard,” he added.

Sindh’s information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon linked the Jinnah collective effort values ​​with the current challenges of the day after recent rains and urban floods. “This is a national emergency that cannot be treated only by the Government; public cooperation is extremely necessary,” he said while updating flood relief efforts.

The mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, also addressed the media on the occasion, promising that the development work stopped by the rains would resume this Sunday. “If all interested parties play their role sincerely, the city can advance in the spirit of unity, faith and discipline,” he said.
