Washington: The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has shared an image of himself dressed as the Pope on his social platform of truth after joking that he would like to be the next Catholic pontiff.

The president is seen in what appears to be an image of color generated by AI, with his right index finger pointing to the sky, with papal royal, including white robes, a golden crucifix pendant and the groind hat.

It occurs after Trump joked the journalists this week that he would like to be the next Pope, a few days before the cardinals began the conclave to choose the successor of Pope Francis who died on April 21.

When asked who would like to happen to Pope Francis, Trump said: “I would like to be Pope, that would be my number one choice.”

Trump continued to say that he had no preference, but said there was a cardinal in New York who was “very good.”

It seemed to refer to the New York archbishop, Timothy Dolan, a theological and fiercely opposite conservative to abortion.

Trump attended the funeral of Pope Francis last week, his first foreign trip since he returned to power.

About 20% of Americans declare themselves Catholics, and departure surveys indicated in November that they voted around 60% in favor of Trump.

Pope Francis could be one of the most powerful moral voices on Trump’s critical world stage.

When Trump was running for the first time for president in 2016, Francis was undecided in his promise to build a border wall to seal Mexico.

Francis told reporters: “Anyone, whoever, only wants to build walls and not bridges is not a Christian.”

The cardinals will meet on May 7 in a conclave in the Vatican Sistine Chapel to choose a new Pope.
