President Zardari arrives in China on the 10 -day visit


President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Chengdu on a 10 -day visit to China. The invitation was extended by the Chinese government, said Associated Press of Pakistan (app).

Upon arriving at the Chengdu Shuanggliu International Airport, the president was warmly received by the Vice President of Foreign Affairs, Sun Weidong, and the Vice Governor of the province of Sichuan, Huang Ruixue.

The Pakistan ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong were also present to welcome the president, said the press release of a presidency.

In addition to Chengdu, the president will also visit the Autonomous Region of Shanghai and Xinjiang Uygur during his stay in China from September 12 to 21 and will hold meetings with the provincial leadership, said the president’s spokesman in a statement.

The discussions will cover the Bilateral Relations Pakistan-China, with a particular approach to economic and commercial cooperation, the Chinese-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and future connectivity initiatives.

The two parties will also exchange views on bilateral cooperation in the multilateral forum. The visit underlines the tradition of high -level exchanges between Pakistan and China, in addition to reaffirming mutual support in the issues of central interests, advanced economic and commercial cooperation, including CPEC, and to highlight its joint commitment to regional peace, development and stability.
