President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed on Wednesday the government’s commitment to eradicate terrorism and guarantee peace and lasting development in Baluchistan.
By chairing a high level meeting on the security situation of the province, President Zardari highlighted the threat posed by the terrorist elements with the aim of destabilizing the region. “The situation is clear: the State will continue to exist, and we must win the war on terrorism,” he said.
The meeting was attended by the president of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, interim governor of the Baluchistan captain (RETD) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, the main secretary Shakel Qadir Khan, the inspector general of the Moazzam Jah Ansari Police and other senior officials.
Baluchistan’s prime minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, provided a detailed informative session on the situation of law and order of the province. In response, President Zardari emphasized the need to modernize security forces, promising that the Government would equip the anti -terrorist wing with advanced armament.
Emphasizing the importance of Baluchistan, the president reiterated the government’s approach to sustainable development and education. “Baluchistan is close to our hearts. We want sustainable development and peace in the province,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of education, stating that each child in Baluchistan should be enrolled in school. “It is crucial to equip our children with modern technology to ensure their future,” he added.
The meeting reaffirmed the government’s resolution to address security challenges while prioritizing socioeconomic development in the province.
