ISLAMABAD:
Prices of deregulated petroleum products, including kerosene, light diesel (LDO) and high octane blending component (HOBC), have also increased following the government’s recent increase in gasoline and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices and a rise in international oil prices.
Although the government maintains that kerosene, LDO and HOBC are liberalized products whose prices are not set directly by the State, changes in the petroleum development tax have contributed to the increase in their rates.
The price of kerosene oil has been increased by Rs 130.08 per liter to Rs 318.81 per liter. Similarly, the LDO has become costlier by Rs 67.82 per litre, with its new price set at Rs 235.01 per litre.
A petroleum tax of Rs 20.36 per liter has been imposed on kerosene, while a tax of Rs 15.84 per liter is levied on LDO.
Also, the HOBC price has been raised to Rs 338 per liter.
