Prime Minister praises NAB transformation

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday formally reviewed the performance of the National Accountability Office and appreciated its transformation into a technology-driven institution.

He praised the integration of modern technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence in investigations.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmed called him to the Prime Minister’s House and presented NAB’s annual report for the year 2025. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar was also present during the meeting, the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office said in a press release.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said the government was working on priority to harness new technologies for national and economic development.

He expressed these views during a meeting with a high-level delegation of leading AI experts who visited him during his recent private visit to London, UK, last week, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press release on Tuesday.

The delegation included senior leaders from global institutions and organizations such as BlackRock, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Deloitte and some of the world’s leading technology and artificial intelligence companies. Pakistan Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (PVARA) Chairman Bilal bin Saqib was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of global experience; particularly the engagement of overseas Pakistanis, to accelerate Pakistan’s digital and economic transformation.

Foreign Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Than Swe, who is on an official visit to Pakistan, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday.

Welcoming the visiting dignitary and reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen its long-standing relations with Myanmar, the prime minister underlined the importance of expanding cooperation in trade and economic engagement, education, culture, skill development and people-to-people exchanges, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The skills of young people

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday assured that the federal government will use all possible resources to further enhance the skills and capabilities of the country’s youth.

The prime minister, in a meeting with Prime Minister’s Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, said the government was giving priority to improving the educational capabilities of the youth.
