In his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the devastating loss of lives in Gaza, where more than 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred in the midst of what he described as an act of genocide.

Climate financing and technical support

Prime Minister Shehbaz also requested better global cooperation in climate financing and technology exchange, emphasizing the need for governments to take collective measures to address climate change. He urged private investors to explore opportunities in the Clean Energy and Infrastructure sectors of Pakistan.

The prime minister stressed the importance of multilateral institutions that support emerging economies as Pakistan to achieve sustainable development.

He said that Pakistan is committed to mobilizing national resources and implementing policy reforms, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that international associations and financial support are essential for the country’s green transition. He pointed out that Pakistan’s energy transition alone requires an estimated investment of $ 100 billion.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to achieve a combination of clean energy of 60% by 2030 and the transition of 30% of all vehicles to electric mobility. He stressed that the country is rapidly expanding its renewable energy sources, including solar energy, wind, hydroelectric energy and nuclear energy.

In particular, the regions of southern Pakistan have 50,000 megawatts of unplugged wind power potential, while hydroelectric projects in the northern regions will add 13,000 megawatts of clean energy capacity.

Investment Center

In addition to environmental measures, the prime minister highlighted Pakistan’s growing potential as an investment center. He pointed out that the country offers one of the most dynamic investment landscapes in Asia, with 70% of its population under 30, a young workforce and technology expert.

The strategic location of Pakistan joins Asia South and Central, which offers promising opportunities for investors, particularly as the emerging middle class feeds economic growth.
