Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken note of the reinstatement of 12 officials of the Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) who had earlier been sacked over corruption allegations.
In response to the notice, a high-level committee was formed. The committee includes former Energy Secretary Shahid Khan, current Energy Secretary, as well as a representative from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Lesco Board.
Lesco management faces accusations of reinstating the 12 officials for monetary gains and of purchasing supplies from an international company.
