The countdown has officially begun the boys season 5 after Prime Video revealed the first artwork for the latest installment of the hit series.
Released yesterday (December 3), two posters, one featuring Billy Butcher and the other featuring Homelander, give us our first look at the Amazon TV original’s last hurray. And boy, are they teasing how the satirical superhero series might end when it arrives next year?

As expected, the one-sheet starring Butcher shows Karl Urban’s deceptive character standing in the middle of the ruins of Vought Tower. Butcher has been hell-bent on destroying his arch-nemesis Homelander and the Supe manufacturing corporation throughout the show, so no one will be surprised if he manages to achieve his goal.

However, some eagle-eyed fans on the ResetEra forums have suggested that said bombs appear to have been dropped on Iowa. Since Annie January/Starlight hails from the city of Des Moines, Iowa, some believe that Homelander could use his nuclear arsenal to decimate his home state and show how powerful he really is now. If that ends up happening, it will be even more distressing for fan-favorite Starlight, who has already suffered enough trauma to last a lifetime.
Does The Boys season 5 already have a release date and/or trailer?
No, but you can expect both to be announced in the very near future.
The 2025 edition of Brazil Comic-Con (CCXP) officially begins today (December 4) and, as confirmed in the boys‘on social media channels in November, showrunner Eric Kripke and some of the series’ cast members will attend.
A season 5 panel will also be held on Saturday, December 6 at 8 pm local time (i.e. 3 pm PT and 11 pm GMT), and will not only celebrate all five seasons of the show, but will also see Kripke and company share some insights about their latest installment. So I’d be very surprised if the first teaser for Season 5 and the official release date (or at least the release month) aren’t announced.
