The royal family appears to be in a bind due to the former Prince Andrew scandal, which is allegedly threatening the reputation of the monarchy.
The former Duke of York’s two siblings, Prince Edward and Princess Anne, are in “touch” with the disgraced royals even after King Charles’ decision to cut ties with him.
The 77-year-old monarch stripped his younger brother of his royal title and forced him to leave his favorite Windsor home, Royal Lodge, to move to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate over his alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein.
Royal expert Jennie Bond shared her opinion on the former Duke of York’s siblings, Prince Edward and Princess Anne, who are still in contact with him, despite the monarch choosing to stay away.
“I think this is an example of the separation of the institution of the monarchy and the royal family. The king and his heir, [Prince] William, they have a vested interest in protecting the monarchy and feel they have a duty to do so,” Bond said. The mirror.
Edward, 62, reportedly went to visit the former Duke of York over Easter along with his wife, Duchess Sophie.
The expert continued to explain the situation in her own words: “AndrĂ©s represents a threat to the good name of the monarchy, which is why both Charles and William keep their distance.”
“I’m sure Anne and Edward feel the same loyalty to the Crown, but they also have a little more freedom to keep in touch with Andrew. And they seem to be doing just that,” Bond continued.
He then gave some insight into the meeting, saying: “No one has any idea what Edward and Sophie discussed with Andrew. Personally, I doubt it had anything to do with the move to Marsh Farm.”
Edward and Anne, 75, “keep private channels of communication open” and “certainly keep Charles in the picture as well.”
“But I suppose Edward’s visit suggests that behind the stoic face of the royal family lies a beating heart. We can only hope that one of them will put some pressure on his brother to do something decent and tell the US authorities what he knows about Jeffrey Epstein,” Bond said.
