Harry, the Duke of Sussex, announced the departure of his and his wife Meghan Markle of the royal family in 2020 after the couple left the country to spend some time in Canada.
According to a new documentary, the couple announced their departure from the real duties during a meeting of the secret royal family called the Sandringham Summit, which took place on January 13.

Harry and Meghan announced the division through a statement, saying: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year at the beginning to forge a new progressive role within this institution.”
“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the royal family and work to become financially independent, while we continue to fully support her Majesty the Queen. Now we plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty towards the queen, the community and our sponsor,” they concluded.
Subsequently, Buckingham Palace also issued a statement in the name of the Queen, saying: “Today, my family had very constructive discussions about the future of my grandson and her family. My family and I completely support Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Family.”
“Harry and Meghan have made it clear that they do not want to depend on public funds in their new lives. Therefore, it has been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the United Kingdom,” the statement explained.
