Prince Harry suffers setback before visit to Australia

Prince Harry has received surprise news from Australia before his arrival in the country, where King Charles is head of state.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as royals in 2020, made a bold decision that could leave the royal family and King Charles worried amid a growing campaign against the monarchy.

In the latest setback suffered by the Duke, the Melbourne Conference has slashed ticket prices for Harry’s keynote speech.

King Charles III’s youngest son, Harry, is scheduled to give a speech on mental health in the workplace at the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne on April 16.

The event has now started selling heavily discounted tickets as the days draw closer. Organizers issued new, much cheaper tickets to hear the duke speak.

The new tickets are said to be 50 per cent cheaper than the previous price they were released for the Duke’s conference.

The move indicates that people are less interested in listening to the duke.

Some alleged the 41-year-old’s attempt to cash in as a speaker in Australia is proving to be a setback, with tickets to the event now costing half the asking price.

It comes amid reports that there is a petition circulating in the country with more than 39,000 signatures, questioning why taxpayers should fund their security and logistics when visiting the country privately.

According to details, attendees can purchase the “Delegate” package for $997.00 or participate virtually for $498. Previously, only the pricey $2,378 Platinum and $1,978 Gold packages were available to prospective guests at the two-day event.

The Delegate option is more than 50 percent off the Gold package price and still includes access to all seminars and keynotes, as well as the “Conference Hospitality Package,” which includes morning tea, standing lunch stations, afternoon tea, and coffee and tea stations.

Harry has rebranded himself as a digital security crusader after struggling to gain traction in Hollywood. The Duke will honor the conference as a figure who “has dedicated his life to the service and upliftment of communities.”

He will emphasize the importance of our collective mental health in his global philanthropy and advocacy work.

The former royal recently appeared on the speaking circuit at the 2026 International Association of Privacy Professionals Global Privacy Summit in Washington, DC, for which he reportedly “earned a measly $50,000.”

According to claims, it was a big drop compared to the $1 million speech price tag that Harry and Markle expected it to fetch when they arrived in the US in 2020 after leaving the royal family.
