Prince William and Kate Middleton made sure to offer a glimpse into their emotional journey since the Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
According to a body language expert, the Christmas card released by the Prince and Princess of Wales, which features their family photo, has shared subtle but revealing details hidden within the image.
talking to The mirrorBody language expert Judi James noticed her daughter Princess Charlotte’s protective arms around her mother and brother, and William’s gentle gesture of stroking Kate’s thigh.
He noted that the Welsh tried to convey a sense of openness, honesty and shared emotions, hinting at the challenges the family has faced throughout the year.
“Charlotte is seen with protective arms around her mother and brother, almost hugging them. William holds his arm around Louis, but his hand gently cups Kate’s thigh,” James said.
“Kate’s rituals also appear protective as she places one arm around her children and the other reaches out to her husband and youngest son,” they added.
“With William and Kate’s card, we get an up-close, on-camera view of what look like very open and honestly shared emotions between parents and children alike.
“This is the familiar image we saw in Kate’s update video about her illness, and the body language here is nuanced and complex enough to gently hint at everything they’ve been going through.”
