Prince William made a rare comment about the painful separation of Princess Diana and King Carlos when he was only eight years old.

In a recent interview in Apple TV+‘s The traveler reluctant with Eugene LevyThe Prince of Wales opened on how the divorce of his parents left a lasting impact on his childhood.

For the not versed, Charles and Diana announced their separation in 1992 and August 1995, after the order of Queen Elizabeth II, the couple finished their divorce.

Remembering the time William said he was host of Eugene Levy: “You have to have that warmth, that sense of security, security, love, that everything has to be there, and that was certainly part of my childhood.”

William also pointed out that he does not want to repeat his parents’ mistake, for the good of his children.

He continued saying: “My parents divorced at 8, so a short period of time lasted. But you take it and learn from it and try to make you not make the same mistakes as your parents.”

“I think we all try to do that and I just want to do my best for my children, but I know that drama and stress when you are small really affect you when you are older,” he added about his children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 years old, whom Kate Middleton shares.

It is pertinent to mention that Diana and Charles married in 1981 and remained married for 15 years and welcomed two children, Prince William and Prince Harry.
