Not only was Prince William promoting green spaces, he almost landed a cameo in a drama about dog walking.
The Prince of Wales was at Windlesham’s Field of Remembrance park filming a video with English football legend Jill Scott for the centenary of the Fields in Trust charity, which protects parks, playgrounds and sports fields, when an unsuspecting local fell on set.
The woman, out with her dog, froze when her off-leash pup charged straight at William, prompting an unforgettable “Oh my God!” that was caught on camera and quickly hit the internet.
William, a well-known dog lover who even brought his own cocker spaniel, Orla, in earlier shots, took it in stride and laughed at the interruption while Scott calmed both the walker and the furry intruder.
The dog’s owner, clearly nervous, was quick to apologize, while Scott calmly reassured her: “It’s okay, don’t worry.”
William and Scott were in high spirits as they talked about the vital role green spaces play for communities, especially for children to get fresh air and exercise.
Scott, who grew up playing soccer in local parks and now serves as president of Fields in Trust, shared how those same throws shaped her legendary career.
