Prince William had a witty moment with his aunt Princess Anne on Mike Tindall’s podcast. The good, the bad and rugbythat left royal fans smiling.
The conversation turned to the racket sport Padel, and while William and Kate praised their new hobby, Anne hesitated.
“Do you think even I could do that?” asked the Princess Royal, 75, momentarily questioning her sporting abilities despite her Olympic equestrian background.
William was quick to reassure her, smiling: “Definitely! You’d be brilliant at that.”
It was a rare glimpse into Anne’s self-deprecating side, one that belies her usual reputation as the hardest-working royal in history, tackling hundreds of engagements a year without breaking a sweat.
The Princess Royal’s sporting tastes have always leaned towards equestrian and rugby fields rather than tennis courts, following in the footsteps of her mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, who rarely attended Wimbledon and considered tennis to be “too cauldron-like”.
The clip captures a hint of humility from one of the most formidable royals, along with William’s trademark encouragement, proving that even the Princess Royal can have a “Can I really do this?” moment.
