Princess Anne will take her trademark hands-on approach to charity out of London and straight to Sheffield on Monday.
The Princess will highlight two vital community projects for families and young children.
First on their agenda is a visit to Save the Children Nursery and Baby Bank at Meadows Nursery, where volunteers and staff provide crucial early childhood support to children and their parents.
Anne has been a fixture in the world of children’s charities for decades and was president of Save the Children from 1970 to 2017 and is now its patron, and is known for championing programs that ensure children have the safety, health and learning opportunities they deserve.
After that engagement, she will visit Baby Basics UK, a charity that helps families who cannot afford the everyday items that make caring for a baby possible.
Based on the belief that no family should have to choose between heating their home and buying diapers, they provide everything from clothing and feeding supplies to strollers and beds for children up to five years old.
The Sheffield Baby Basics center works with over 100 referral agencies including health visitors, social care professionals and midwives.
They have a team of more than 80 volunteers who help with sorting, packing and support.
