Princess Beatrice spoke about the need to generate trust and unite online people during a talk in London Tech Week.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughter joined the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, to talk in Olympia, where they discussed how online communities can help shape better rules and content.
During his talk, Beatrice pointed out how important it is to create spaces where people can speak and make decisions together.
He also shared his opinion that trust grows when people feel included. “What we need is more online community,” said the princess.
“The spaces for people to join and discuss and reach content decisions and the rules of the platform that feel good for them,” he added.
“This is how you build trust among people.”
The two also talked about how AI should support people and not replace them and at the same time touch how AI could help fight false information.
“Fighting misinformation, improving knowledge equity and expanding digital inclusion in more than 300 languages” were discussion issues.
The two also shed light on “Sustainable reuse of content through technical associations and data sets has never been more important in the AI era.”
