Badin:
A prisoner in the Badin district prison died due to alleged torture while he was also sick. The 30 -year -old inmate, Muhammad Yousuf, had been transferred from Badin to Hyderabad Civil Hospital. Before his death, two videos became viral on social networks, in a video that the prisoner accused the authorities of the prison to torture him while he was in the second, he also declared that he was sick and suffered stomach pain.
The prisoner’s brother, Gulab Qamrani, also accused the administration of the prison to torture Yousuf and said his brother became ill due to severe physical abuse by prison staff and claimed that Yousuf underwent brutal torture, which caused his death.
The authorities of the prison, however, said that the prisoner was supposedly a drug addict and that he was in jail in a case related to drugs. They said he was first taken to Badin Civil Hospital and then moved to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital due to his condition.
The authorities denied any accusation of torture, stating that the prisoner died due to his medical condition.
Family members, political and social circles in Badin have said that reports of torture and bribery within the Badin district prison are common. They alleged that the prison authorities have previously submitted several prisoners to torture for not paying money.
