Islamabad:
On Thursday, the Government rationalized the rates charged by private medical universities for the titles of MBBS and BDS, and limited them to RS1.8 million per year, in order to bring medical education to the reach of the common man.
The decision to reduce rates was taken by the Medical Education Committee, which was established on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
Deputy PM ISHAQ presided over the fifth meeting of the Committee to discuss the regulation of rates and rationalization in private medical schools.
After an extensive consultation, the committee reached the consensus to recommend a limit of registration fees of RS1.8 million.
