Islamabad:
On Thursday, the National Oil Assembly Committee was informed that there was a lack of gas supply in the country, therefore, permission could not be granted for the installation of new gas meters.
Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik told the committee that he would be beyond any logic that were installed when there were no gas available.
The committee met here with Syed Mustafa Mehmood in the chair. The meeting deliberated on key problems of the energy sector. The Secretary of Energy informed the participants about a two -pointed strategy to manage the supply deficit.
The committee discussed the gas acquisition agreements with Qatar and Azerbaijan, together with the challenges faced by local gas distribution companies and the government’s policy framework for private sector participation in natural gas exploration.
The Secretary of Energy described that the strategy included involving interested parties for discoveries and guaranteeing prudent network operations.
