Prohibition of trans athletes: ítaca allows to compete with women

Ithaca College in New York admitted to letting a Trans athlete compete in a rowing competition in Division III during the weekend. The university allowed this despite the fact that NCAA changed its gender eligibility policy in February to prevent biological men from competing in women’s sports, in accordance with the executive order of President Donald Trump who addresses the problem.

The Trans athlete competed in the Cayuga duals on Saturday, but only in the third university event eight, which is not taken into account in the qualification of the NCAA championship.

How the transgender in sports changed the 2024 elections and lit a national counterculture

Ithaca provided a statement to Pak Gazette Digital saying that the participation of the trans athlete was due to a “misunderstanding” by the coaching staff about what was considered an official NCAA event, and referred to the male practice players of politics.

“It is the intention of Ithaca College to comply with all the rules of the NCAA. According to those rules, the student in question has the ability to be on the list and participate in open gender competitions and competition. Last weekend, there was a misunderstanding by training personnel on what constituted an official NCAA event, because there is no removal event of the third variety in the NCAA Championship in the NCAA championship.”

Ithaca ended first in the first and second university team eight events about Hamilton College and William Smith College, but ended in third place in the third Varsity Eight event in which the Trans athlete competed.

The controversial transgender swimmer Lia Thomas promises to fight the prohibitions of trans athletes

The NCAA has provided a statement to Pak Gazette Digital that addresses the breach of Ithaca’s policy.

“Politics is clear that there are no exemptions available, and students assigned to men at birth may not compete in a team of women with modified birth certificates or other forms of identification. If competition occurs, the team will be considered a mixed team and is not eligible to compete against women’s team attention.

The NCAA did not indicate that the results of the event will be canceled or that ithaca will face any consequence.

The recent Ithaca incident is the first known occurrence of a Trans athlete that competes in a female competition since the NCAA modified its gender eligibility policy on February 6.

“An athlete student assigned to a man at birth may not compete in a team of women,” said the new policy.

The previous policy, which was implemented in 2010, allowed biological men to compete in the women’s category after undergoing at least one year of testosterone suppression treatment. This policy has resulted in multiple demands against the NCAA and its member schools for specific incidents that involve trans inclusion that affects biologically female athletes.

The Trump administration is currently investigating two schools appointed in these demands, the University of Pennsylvania and the State University of San José, to allow Trans Lia Thomas and Blaire Fleming athletes compete in the women’s category.

The administration has already stopped $ 175 million in federal funds for UPENN as a consequence to allow Thomas to compete in the women’s swimming team in 2021-22.
