Karachi:
A protest from the Balochjehti (Byc) committee in Karachi on Monday some oldest parts of the country’s economic center fell on Monday, including the obstacle and traffic traffic jams ahead of Ifar.
The Byc organized a protest in Fawara Chowk of the city, near the building of the Sindh Assembly, demanding the release of its arrested leaders, including Dr. Mahrung Baloch.
In response to the protest, the police blocked multiple roads paralyzing traffic in the surrounding areas. Great congestion was reported, and the Traffic Police could not administer the situation effectively.
Many citizens, trapped in the stagnation near the Karachi Press Club and Fawara Chowk, had to break their fast in the streets. Frustrated travelers criticized the Traffic Police for their persistent inability to handle such situations.
In a repression, the police also arrested several people, including a BYC leader, for allegedly violating section 144. The protesters responded with a demonstration against the arrests.
According to the traffic authorities, the closure of the Deen Muhammad Wafai road by Karachi and Sarwar Shaheed Road “for security reasons” the movement in II Chundigar Road, Shaheen Complex Chowk, Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road, Mr. Kiyani Road, Aiwan-E-Sadr Road and Fawara Chowk.
