PSN is not working and it is officially stated that “Some services are experiencing problems” – here is what we know so far

Well, I’m hitting the PlayStation Store right now and browsing the spring sales. It looks like I can download Slime Rancher 2 from PS Plus Monthly Games just fine. I just started playing The Long Dark, which I had downloaded but never played before, so that’s cool.

It’s still the official line

“You may be having difficulty launching games, applications, or network functions. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

It is noticeable in other places

You can see that not only are people noticing PSN not working on Downdetector, but it’s hard to tell if they are connected – the reports may just be the consequences of PSN not working, as specific games or services are flagged as not working as a result.

You can also see that the spike is decreasing, although there is no status update from Sony and I’m not playing Overwatch 2 yet…

What’s happening? Officially, all of these

Here’s Sony’s list of what’s officially down: You can see Sony officially acknowledged it about 40 minutes ago, but online reports first appeared about an hour ago. And to be fair, by Big Tech standards, recognizing a problem after 20 to 30 minutes isn’t bad at all.
