Islamabad:
The PTA blocked 16 Indian YouTube news channels, 31 YouTube video links and 32 websites to disseminate false information and anti-pakistan propaganda.
The action was taken to the light of the prevailing regional situation to safeguard national security and protect Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
According to the PTA, it was discovered that the blocked content was disseminating deceptive and harmful narratives aimed at manipulating public perception and undermining national unity.
The measure is part of the continuous efforts of the authority to combat misinformation and promote the responsible use of digital platforms.
The PTA reiterated its commitment to maintain a safe, safe and reliable Internet environment for telecommunications users in Pakistan.
The authority declared that it will continue to actively monitor the online content and take firm measures against any material that represents a threat to the national interests of the country.
It is pertinent to take into account that the action of the PTA follows a recent movement of the Ministry of Information and Radiodice of India, which exercised emergency powers under the Information Technology Law to instruct the main social media platforms to Geo-Limit several Pakistani accounts.
