The Telecommunications Authority of Pakistan (PTA) took the media reports on the supposed availability of online subscriber data on Tuesday. In a statement, the PTA clarified that it does not have or manage the subscriber data, which remains only with licensed operators.
Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, realized on Sunday of the subject after Express News put the center of attention for the second time that the private data of citizens, including government ministers and key officials, were on sale on illegal websites.
According to the report, the mobile phone location was available on these platforms.
