The Pakistan Tax Bar (PTB) has shown reservations over FBR’s legal matters, alleging that the revenue collection authority is filing unnecessary tax cases. In a letter written to Prime Minister Shehzab Sharif, the PTB said that the revenue collecting authority is filing unnecessary and weak cases, which amounts to discouraging taxpayers. Tax cases are pending in courts and other platforms. The PTB demanded that the government establish a steering committee to review tax cases. With the establishment of the steering committee, tax cases will be reduced by 50 percent, he added.
