Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) was distanced from the reports that suggest that the main member of the Azam Swati party is involved in conversations with the military establishment, with the general secretary of the Salman Akram Raja party that indicates that such actions are not sanctioned by the leadership of the party.
Speaking to journalists outside an anti -terrorism court in Lahore, Raja said: “The claims of an agreement between Azam Swati and the establishment have no connection with PTI. He is speaking in his personal capacity,” said Express News.
Raja emphasized PTI’s continuous adhesion to constitutional principles.
“We defend the rule of law and the supremacy of the Constitution. That is still our goal,” he said.
Answering the questions about why the senior leaders had not yet been allowed to meet the founder of the Imran Khan party, Raja suggested that the delay was intentional.
“It seems that efforts are being made to create ambiguity. Once we find it, it will be clear if you have authorized any dialogue,” he said.
Raja emphasized that negotiations or decisions could not be confirmed without a direct consultation with Imran Khan.
“Until there is a clarity of him, I can’t comment on any Backchannel activity,” he added.
Their comments are presented in the midst of continuous speculation about possible political negotiations between the leaders of PTI imprisoned and the government backed by the army.
PTI has constantly rejected any undercover treatment, calling instead a transparent political process and free elections.
Previously, PTI Senior leader Azam Khan Swati said he will work to start the dialogue between the founder of the Imran Khan party and the country’s army head.
Azam Khan Swati emphasized the importance of the military, describing it as “a key national institution and a source of pride.” He denied suggestions that his release occurred as part of any agreement, maintaining that his loyalty to Imran Khan remained “unwavering.”
