PTI leader in jail despite medical problems: lawyer

The lawyer of the Pakistan’s leader of Pakistan, Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s lawyer, claimed that she was returned to Kot Lakhppp’s jail on Saturday after a high premature of the Hospital de Servicios despite the serious medical problems ongoing.

Dr. Rashid, 74, gynecologist and cancer survivor, has been in custody since May 12, 2023, facing multiple positions linked to disturbances caused by the arrest of the founder of PTI Imran Khan. His health has repeatedly hesitated, with hospitalizations in May and July of last year, and again last week when he suffered severe abdominal pain and respiratory difficulties.

His mudassar frog lawyer said he was fighting the stomach infection and that he needed oxygen support for respiratory anguish. Although he underwent medical tests during his recent stay at the hospital, Mudassar said that the authorities had registered it without completing the necessary treatment, claiming a violation of their right to medical care. His family and his legal team were not informed of his transfer to jail, the lawyer alleged.

The deputy director of the opposition of the Punjab Assembly, Moeen Riaz Qureshi, criticized the management of the government issue. He emphasized the vulnerability of former provincial minister as a survivor of elderly cancer and accused authorities of neglecting their medical needs for political reasons.
