PTI legislators granted prison in more cases


The anti -terrorism court, which acquitted Shah Mehmood Qureshi of PTI, granted 10 years in prison to PTI legislators, including former governor Umar Sarfraz Chema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Ch, Mihmood Ur Rasheed, in two different cases registered against them in the response to May 9.

The ATC judge also granted 5 years in prison to Alia Hamza de PTI and the social activist of PTI Sanam Javed.

Previously, the ATC court had reserved decisions after hearing in detail the arguments of both parties in the Kot Lakhppp prison in two cases, ‘attack of the Shadman Police Station and burning police vehicles near Jinnah House, in the Kot Lakhppp prison.

The lawyer on the accused side argued that there is no concrete evidence available to establish any link of the people accused with the levels level in the FIR.

They argued that the cases of political motivation had registered against the accused people simply to humiliate and blackmail them, and added that they were involved in falsified cases.

The prosecution implored the court that there is substantial and convincing evidence against accused people, which shows that they incited the public to commit the crime.

He added that accused people are completely involved in the crime they committed on May 9 in the light of harmful state properties, establishing police vans on fire, creating law and order, anarchy chaos.

However, the ATC court announced a verdict and imprisoned PTI legislators.

Speaking with the Express PAkGazette, one of PTI’s advice, Rana Mudassar Umar, said the trials had been completed in cases of fuel vehicles outside Rahat Bakery and Arson near the Shadman Police Station.

He said that a total of 25 defendants were appointed in the case of Rahat Bakery, while seven defendants were declared fleeting.

He also said that the trial of 12 defendants was completed in the fire of the Shadman Police Station, and five defendants were in custody in this case, while a defendant had died.
