Islamabad:

In an explosion of leadership, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) received a new blow on Friday as opposition leaders both in the National Assembly and in the Senate, Omar Ayub Khan and Shibli Faraz, were discouraged after their disqualification by the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP).

Dual movements, rooted in sentences linked to the disturbances of May 9, occur as the party leadership bank continues to grow and recalibrate internal recalibrations, with Sherwart Sher Sher Sher Afzal Marwat sherwart proposed potential performance.

The Secretariat of the National Assembly, in a notification dated August 7, confirmed the elimination of Ayub.

“As a consequence of the disqualification and disqualification of the opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan to be a member of the National Assembly (NA-18 Haripur) under article 63 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the office of the opposition leader of the National Assembly has been vacant with the effect of August 5, 2025,” he said.

Similarly, the Senate Secretariat issued a parallel notification that indicates: “With the consequence of the disqualification and de-notification of the opposition leader in the Senator Senate Syed Shibli Faraz, of being a member of the Senate under article 63 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the opposition leader’s office in the Senate has been vacant with the effect of the 5th Aughúrgica “.

The last challenge adds to a growing list of setbacks for PTI, which recently saw three important leadership roles disappear from once. In addition to the departure of Omar Ayub, Sartaj Gul was relieved of his duties as a parliamentary leader, while Ahmad Chatha lost his position as an attached parliamentary leader. The party has also been denied access to the opposition leader’s chamber.

The consequences continue as Omar Ayub has been eliminated from both the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the Finance Committee. Other disqualified seven MNA were stripped of their memberships in several permanent committees, which is equivalent to a total loss of 15 spaces of the PTI committee, including key presidents.

Among the victims, Sahibzada Hamid Raza was eliminated as president of the Permanent Human Rights Committee, while Sartaj Gul lost his seat in the same forum. Rai Hassan Nawaz was also stripped of his role as president of the Railway Committee.

Another PTI seat wobbles

Meanwhile, PTI’s problems continued to increase while the Waqas Akram sheikh can go to turbulence.

Akram seems to be under scrutiny after a motion of Nueheen Iftikhar de PML-N that seeks to declare his vacancy. A decision is expected on August 11.

According to the sources, the motion won a traction after NA’s speaker expressed concerns about the prolonged absence of Akram.
