The president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, said that the party is considering boycotting the Parliament or launching a political movement after several higher leaders were sentenced in the cases on May 9 on Thursday, said Express News.
Speaking at an emergency press conference together with Asad Qaiser, Junaid Akbar Khan, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and others, Gohar described the day as sad for democracy. “Our mandate was stolen, our imprisoned leader and the doors of justice closed us,” he said.
Gohar said that PTI still believes in democratic and constitutional policy and not with confrontation. However, he hinted that the party can soon be forced to decide between the parliamentary boycott or launch a mass movement.
“Our leadership will make the final decision very soon, and we will present this matter against Imran Khan,” he said.
