Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has presented a petition in the Superior Court of Lahore (LHC), looking for permission to celebrate a demonstration in mine-e-pakistan on March 22.
The petition, presented through Akmal Bari, argues that the party wishes to hold a demonstration according to the law and the Constitution, but the permission has been denied for a peaceful meeting, said Express News.
PTI has asked the Court to allow them to celebrate the demonstration in Minar Pakistan, ensuring their right to the Pacific Assembly.
In the petition, the party emphasized that despite following all legal procedures, their request for a peaceful demonstration was denied, and seek the intervention of the court to grant permission for the planned event.
Previously, Lahore’s administration denied PTI to celebrate a rally at the MINAR-E-Pakistan on February 8.
The PTI had announced to celebrate a public demonstration on February 8, the first anniversary of the last general elections that the party describes as highly manipulated last week of January.
Later, Alia moved the LHC in view of a delay by the district administration by deciding the matter.
