Taking advantage of the wide gap within the ruling coalition, the Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf invited the Pakistan peoples party to join the presentation of a motion of without confidence against the government.
During a national assembly session on Monday, the former speaker and leader of PTI Asad Qaiser urged the PPP to stop participating in a “friendly fire” and, instead, take a bold political step.
“PPP should show courage and move a motion of non-confidence against the Government instead of playing a simulated political game,” Qaiser said as he reacted to the war of words in progress between the PPP and the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League.
The PPP has not yet responded to the PTI offer.
Aso Lee: The cracks widen in the Government Alliance as the NA PPP strike, Senate
Meanwhile, Senator Barrimer Ali Zafar de PTI criticized both the PPP and the PML-N for what he described as political theatricality in the middle of a national crisis during a Senate session on Monday.
He said that the two ruling partners of the coalition seemed to be in a contest, not to help the victims of the flood, but to overcome each other in press conferences and photos of photos. “The aid has not reached the victims; maybe it has reached their own pockets,” he said.
Zafar accused both parts of the long-lasting malvator, stating: “PPP and PML-N have governed this country more, however, they compete blatantly on who has fooled the nation less.”
He regretted that while people were in agony, families affected by floods continued to suffer without relief. “The children of the victims of the floods are still sleeping hungry under the open sky,” he said.
Despite the suffering, he added, both parties insisted on receiving their performance. “On behalf of PTI, I give them a trophy for insensitivity, incompetence and greed,” he joked.
Citing the devastation scale in Punjab, the senator revealed that 5,700 villages remain submerged, the crops have been destroyed and the cattle have perished. “Farmers live in uncertainty, while 18 million people are severely affected,” he said, added that 22,000 square kilometers of land had been affected.
In addition, he pointed out that 60% of the rice harvest and 30% of the cotton harvest had been eliminated, which forced the country to import goods worth almost $ 3 billion to meet the demand. “Look at the situation, and yet these leaders leave the house in arrogance,” he concluded.
