Islamabad:
The workers of the Central Secretariat of PTI have been trapped in the midst of a financial crisis, since their salaries were cut in half almost nine months ago.
According to sources, despite the repeated promises of leadership, employees have not yet received their arrears.
Salary cuts were first implemented in October last year and have not been reversed since then.
Although many employees endured difficulties such as arrest, detention and torture, they were still fired from their work.
The sources also revealed that some of these employees had fits registered against them and were still faithful to the party during difficult times, but their sacrifices were overlooked.
The sources added that the president of PTI, the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja and Sheikh Waqas Akram have been repeatedly informed about employee complaints, but so far there have been no practical measures.
PTI’s secretary of information, Sheikh Waqas Akram had assured employees that his quotas would be paid soon.
However, promises remain breached.
In addition, the former head of the PTI media department, Sibghatullah Wirk, also remained hidden for several months due to political pressure and financial difficulties, and finally presented his resignation to leadership.
The sources said that the founder of PTI had issued clear instructions that all MNA and MPA must deposit funds to cover the expenses of the Party Secretariat, but most did not comply.
