The president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), BarrĂster Gohar, said Monday that if it had been allowed to meet the founder of the Imran Khan party, he would have discussed the growing tensions with India while reaffirming the total support of PTI for all decisions taken by the government in response to the actions of India.
Speaking to the media near Adiala prison on Tuesday, he reiterated that Imran Khan had already declared that Pakistan would not hesitate to respond decisively to any hostile action of India.
He also affirmed PTI’s full support to all decisions made by Pakistan in response to the actions of India, adding that the recent prohibition of Pakistani news channels by the Indian authorities had exposed the “myth” of Indian secularism.
Contenting the prohibition of the media of India, Gohar said that India was projecting a false narrative at the international level. “Close Pakistan airspace to India is a justified and strong movement,” he said, stating PTI’s support for the recent statement of the National Security Council.
The lawyer Gohar also criticized the authorities for blocking meetings with Imran Khan, qualifying him as a violation of judicial orders.
“There are larger bank directives and a single member, but there has been no implementation,” he said. “Preventing consultation at such a critical moment is very inappropriate, especially when we talk about being united against India.”
He emphasized the need to consult the founder of PTI, calling him to Pakistan’s most popular political leader. Gohaha also said he raised the question of breach of judicial orders at a meeting with the president of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, urging him to guarantee the application.
PTI’s senator Ali Zafar also spoke with the media near Adial’s prison, stating that in the middle of the rising tensions of India-Pakistan, the policy must remain in the background. “We are with Pakistan, not political, at this time,” he said. “Block today’s meeting with the founder of PTI is equivalent to keeping it in solitary confinement.”
He stressed that an important consultation with Imran Khan was planned regarding national matters. “The founder had clearly ordered that the list of visitors did not matter, anyone who is allowed to be facilitated. We are all their soldiers,” said Zafar.
It echoed the past statements of Imran Khan about India, pointing out: “We are a brave nation. When challenged, we will not think, we will respond.”
